    The Pokemon UNITE India Open 2023, organized by Sky esports, was the biggest esports event for the game to date. It featured a prize pool of INR 10 Lakhs, grassroots-level qualifiers, and a standalone on-ground event at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium, Delhi.

    2023 World Wushu Championships: Roshibina Devi reaches final

    Kushal Kumar won a bronze medal in men's 48kg Sanda category after losing 0-2 to Vietnamese player Hai Tran Huy.

    Chhavi also win a bronze medal in women's 48kg weight category after her defeat to Philippines player Jennifer Kilapio.

    Meanwhile, Asian Games silver medalist Roshibina devi has won her semifinal in women's 60 Kg against Switzerland player Salome Yaei.

    She will be competing against Vietnam T. Nguyen in the final later today.

    Asian Para Archery Championships: Sarita wins bronze in women's compound event

    Sarita won a bronze medal in the women's compound event at the Asian Para Archery Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday. She registered a 139-135 win over Home-compatriot Jyoti in the bronze medal match.

    Asian Para Games champion Sheetal Devi has qualified for the final in the women's compound individual event with a 143-138 win over Sarita in the semifinal. She will play Singapore's Nur Syahidah Alim in the final.

    In the men's compound event, Rakesh Kumar was the only Indian to qualify for the semifinals where he won 143-142 against Japanese Oe Yuya. He will also play against Ken Swagumilang of Indonesia in the final.

    Indian recurve archers missed out on a medal in both the individual events, men's recurve and women's recurve.

    Savita Punia delighted to be nominated for FIH goalkeeper award

    Indian Women's Hockey Team goalkeeper Savita, who won the FIH Goalkeeper of the Year Awards in 2021 and 2022, has been nominated for the award for the third consecutive time in the same category at this year's FIH Hockey Stars Awards.

    Expressing her joy at being nominated for the FIH Women's Goalkeeper of the Year Award 2023, Savita said, “I never thought I would win this award for two straight years, and get nominated yet again. I feel really great, and it's a proud moment for me, my family and my teammates as well. When I started playing, I never thought I would come this far, and it is all due to the support of my family and my teammates."

    Six wushu players excluded from World Championships contingent at Delhi airport

    Six Wushu athletes bound to participate in the 15th edition of the World Championships in the US have been rejected by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at the last moment.

    This came as a major setback for the players after their visas were delayed. The 12-member Indian contingent, including Asian Games silver medallist Naorem Roshibina Devi, arrived at the Delhi airport to board their scheduled flight to the USA on Friday evening. REPORT
