Asian Y&J Weightlifting C'ships: Jyoshna Sabar breaks Asian Youth record
Jyoshna Sabar broke the Youth Asian Record in the Women's 40 kg category with an overall total lift of 135 Kg.
16-year-old Jyoshna Sabar broke the Youth Asian Record in the Women's 40 kg category with an overall total lift of 135 Kg to clinch three gold medals at the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championships in Qatar on Thursday.
Jyoshna also broke two Indian youth national records at the event: Snatch (60 Kg) and Overall Total 135 Kg). However, her best lift of 75 Kg in clean and jerk was 1 Kg short of the C&J national record.
Also, Jyoshna touched the World standard lift of 135 Kg in youth 40 Kg and fell 1 kg short of a Total Youth World record.
Five Youth National Records in Women's 45 and 49 Kg
Earlier in the day, Indian weightlifters had a great outing as they broke five youth national records in group B of 45 and 49 Kg women's categories.
Firstly, Akanksha Vyavhare broke the youth national record in women's 45 Kg snatch (68 Kg) and overall category (151 kg) while Preetismita Bhoi broke the clean and jerk record (85 Kg) in the same category.
Aakansha topped the 45 Kg B group with a total of 151 Kg (68 Kg + 83 kg) while Bhoi finished in the fourth position of the women's 45 Kg B Group with a personal best total of 145 kg. (60+85 Kg)
Later, Asmita Dhone also topped her 49 Kg B group with a total of 162 Kg (68 +94) and broke the national records in Clean and Jerk (94 Kg) and overall Category (162 Kg).
