Milind Soman is no stranger to fitness, evident in many of his social media posts. He is an avid fitness promoter and co founder of Pinkathon, India’s biggest run for women. As the model turns 55 on November 4th, here are three tips among many he has shared throughout his career to remain fit.

Pushing Limits

It is important to keep challenging oneself to improve, in any aspect of life. After successfully finishing the Ironman triathlon, he decided to give the Ultraman marathon, one of the most gruelling endurance challenges on the planet. He did a 10km swim, 421km on a bike and 84.4 km running, all at the age of 51! The Ultraman is an exclusive event, meaning one cannot simply register but be invited for it as it requires braving tough weather and terrain, which was seemingly not a challenge as he did the entire race barefoot.

No Excuses

People might find endless reasons to procrastinate, one of them being not having the right equipment to exercise, not finding enough time, and so on. In an attempt to demolish any excuses, he used wife Ankita Konwar as an external challenge to one of the most commonly performed exercises – push ups. On a trip to Iceland in 2019, he climbed 100 floors, performed 100 squats and 100 push ups and ended the workout with a one minute headstand. It is not equipment that makes a successful workout but to get rid of any excuses and push limits, as mentioned before.

Well Being

Milind Soman has been a firm believer in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He has promoted eating local and seasonal produce, and eating healthy food that will automatically lead one to feeling better. Even when exercising, be it yoga, lifting, calisthenics, running and many others, it is important to remain mindful and strengthen the mind and body while doing so. Sleep, a major factor of every person's life has been disrupted due to digital devices, however, the actor expresses making sleep a priority. A well rested mind has the potential to be more productive and healthy in the long run.

Turning 55, the model decided to celebrate by visiting Goa and sharing pictures on his social media handles. He was last seen in the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s Indian web series titled ‘Four More Shots Please’.
