Tokyo Olympics: Artistic Gymnastics LIVE Day 2 - Pranati Nayak fails to qualify; Simone Biles eyes history - Updates, results, blogs
Comeback
A great comeback from both teams again! Eerily similar Japan and Italy here today
Hitomi Hatakeda scores a 14.133 helping Japan recover from Mai's fall with a beautiful routine! They will most certainly need that for team final if they make it!
Vanessa Ferrari brings the HEAT on floor with a massive 14.166 on floor. The 2006 World champion brings at experience to use here in Tokyo! Will be exciting to see her score hold up for floor finals
FALLS
Falls from both teams here at almost the same time! Wow. Japanese veteran Mai Murakami puts her AA spot in jeopardy after a fall on the bars scoring only a 12.133.
Asia D'amato falls on floor after a beautiful beam routine. Smacks her ankles really hard on the double arabian. Scores only an 11.833
Vault from Cuba
The Cuban Marcia Vidiaux goes all out on vault here today with big difficulty: Does well on the Double twisting Yurchenko but FALLS on the Handpsring 1.5 or Rudi vault. Goes for broke but doesn't go her way today, looks visibly disappointed
Here we go
Aiko Sugihara with a 13.366 on Bars and the Italian Martina Maggio goes 12.700 on floor!

Bars - Pranati
Pranati completes her bar routine as the last gymnast up on bars with a good Tkachev, Clear hip, Giant full turn, Giant half, Overshoot
Pauses - and then toe shoot, double pike dismount STUCK!
Her difficulty isn't the highest on bars but has done well nonetheless!
The fight is on
