Sports not only create moments of joy but also serve as a bridge to cultural expression. In rhythmic gymnastics, music is an integral element, shaping performances and choreography while captivating audiences as gymnasts showcase their flexibility, artistry, and skills.

Over the years, several gymnasts have embraced Indian music at global sporting events like the Olympics and Winter Olympics, mesmerizing crowds with their performances.

In the Indian context, Pranati Nayak delivered a breathtaking floor routine at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, set to the Bollywood song Mashallah by Shreya Ghoshal. Her performance was a memorable moment that resonated deeply with audiences.

A decade earlier, at the 2010 Winter Olympics, USA’s Meryl Davis and Charlie White enthralled spectators in Vancouver with a mesmerizing ice dance routine set to Kajra Re, Silsila Ye Chahat Ka, and Dola Re Dola. Their performance, posted by the Olympic Channel on YouTube, has garnered nearly 15 million views to date. The duo not only won widespread acclaim but also secured a silver medal at the Games.

On Sunday, a similar cultural crossover unfolded when West Bengal’s Anusrita Bhattacharya and Ankrish Karmakar performed on the Marathi song Zingaat during the Acrobatic Mixed Team All-Around Ranking Qualifications, breaking language and cultural barriers through their artistry.
