That's all we have from the Day 1 of the 2022 Hylo Open. Two matches with Indian representation with neither result going the nation's way. First, the mixed doubles pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ishaan Bhatnagar went down in straight games to the Chinese pair, and then Lakshya handed a drubbing.

Was this result even in question? Lakshya Sen goes down 12-21, 5-21 to a lower ranked Ng Ka Long Angus in mere 26 minutes. Thankfully he did manage to steal a couple of points in the latter half of the second game.
This was simply poor from the Indian.
Lakshya Sen has given this up. He is down 3-18 in the second game now and seems to be just simply going through the motions. No energy whatsoever from the Indian.
4 straight points for Angus post the interval as he extends his lead to 12 points. 15-3 the scoreline in his favour now.
This does not look good for Lakshya at all. He trails 3-11 at the second mid-game break. The Indian is struggling like anything.
Not the best of starts to the second game for Lakshya as he looks to be lacking in confidence. Angus takes an early 3-1 lead.
That's a tame surrender to say the least. Lakshya looking far from his best as he loses the first game 12-21 in just 13 minutes. Can he bounce back?
He is really struggling out in the middle right now, is Lakshya. Ng Long is just making him run around the court at the moment. Trails 8-16.
Not a very ideal start this for Lakshya Sen as he trails 6-12 in the first game. He is yet to find his rhythm as Ng toys with him.
A very competitive start to this contest with both players making a couple of errors. 2-2 for now.
