A double podium finish for India in the women's 800m

Pooja wins gold with a new championship record time of 2:02.79s to edge past her compatriot Twinkle Chaudhary, who clocked 2:06.96s to win the silver medal.

With this, Pooja completed her 800-1500m double, having a championship record in both events.

Yashas Palaksha wins the silver medal with a new personal best of 49.22s

Yashas came from behind in a very exciting final to clinch the silver medal, leaving behind the two Japanese hurdlers.

This will be a confidence booster for Yashas, who missed out on the Asian Championships but returned to his first international tournament of the year to clock a new personal best and win the silver medal.

In fact, his time of 49.22s is better than the Asian Championships 2025 silver medalist, Bassem Hemeida of Qatar (49.44s)
