Asian Games 2026: Women's 4*400m relay team wins India's first athletics gold – Highlights
Archery, Men's Recurve: Dhiraj and Niraj reach quarter-finals
Dhiraj Bomadevara and Neeraj Chauhan win their respective 1/8 elimination matches in the men's recurve individual. They move into the quarter-finals.
It is Neeraj, who had the bigger scalp in that round, taking down South Korea's Kim Je Deok, a three-time Olympic medallist.
Neeraj started well by winning the opening round, before drawing the second and losing the third. He did not lose composure and won tied the fourth set to draw level, before winning the fifth outrightly to knock out the South Korean 6-4.
Archery, Men's Recurve: Niraj Chauhan joins Dhiraj in R16
Niraj Chauhan looked lost there for a few minutes, but he has managed to turn the fortunes around. Having lost the first two sets and trailing 0-4, Chauhan wins the next three to win the match against Indonesia's Salsabilla Riau Ega Agata 6-0.
He'll need to figure what went wrong in those two sets pretty soon. The Round of 16 awaits in less than 30 minutes.
Archery, Men's Recurve: A comfortable start for Dhiraj Bommadevara
Dhiraj Bommadevara, who had set the Games record in men's recurve qualification a few days ago, makes a comfortable start to his individual campaign.
He takes down Garcia Girivin Cullen Nigel of Philippines 6-0 in the Round of 32.
Surfing, Men's Shortboard: India's campaign ENDS!
So, no off-field, out-of-the-blue surfing medal for India either at the 2026 Asian Games. Kishore Kumar Anbarasu, the final Indian surfer left standing, is knocked out in the quarter-finals.
Kishore scores a total of 5.37, much lower than what he had in the early stages of the competition. And he is duly blown away from Philippines' Espejon Toby, who scores 8.53.
Kishore scored 3.00 in the first wave and 2.00 in his second.
