19 Indian athletes will soon be marking their presence in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics today. Follow our LIVE updates from the event.

India at Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony
A total of 19 Indian athletes from seven sports and six officials will participate in the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony on Friday.
From hockey, only flag-bearer, men's team captain Manpreet Singh, will participate in the ceremony. This is for the first time India will have two flag bearers. Manpreet will be joined by the legendary boxer Mary Kom. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4.30 PM IST.

The Parade of Nations is not happening in the usual alphabetical order
The Parade of Nations at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony is not being held in the usual English alphabetical order. Instead, it is being conducted in accordance to the Japanese alphabets.

The Indian Twitter has exploded
The Indian Twitter seems to have exploded after the official broadcaster in the country, SONY, decided to split the screen and show the country's Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur, in one half of the screen while the Indian athletes walked out. The Doordarshan (DD) sports, on the other hand, focused solely on the athletes.

The Indian contingent led by Manpreet Singh and MC Mary Kom have just completed their parade, while the newly appointed Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur, watched from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
