Golf Round 3 Live: Aditi Ashok slips to 19th position!

Aditi Ashok dropped to a tie for 19th position from 14th at the start of Round 3 after making a bogey on hole 3. Meanwhile, Diksha Dagar climbed one spot to 13th.

What is a bogey?

In golf, a bogey refers to a score of one stroke over par on a particular hole. For example, if a hole is designated as a par 4, and a golfer takes 5 strokes to complete it, that score is considered a bogey.

It indicates that the golfer did not meet the expected number of strokes for that hole.

P.R. Sreejesh will carry the Indian flag alongside Manu Bhaker!

Indian men’s hockey team goalkeeper P.R. Sreejesh and pistol shooter Manu Bhaker will be the flag bearers for India at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics, scheduled for August 11.

Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok will start Round 3 from a tie for 14th position after finishing Round 2 yesterday.

Vinesh Phogat’s hearing is scheduled for 5:30 PM IST!

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on behalf of wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was disqualified from the gold medal bout in the women’s 50kg category due to her being overweight by 100 gms on the day of the final.

The appeal is to give Vinesh a shared silver as she won her three bouts on the first day with correct weigh-in.

Men’s Hockey: Netherlands defeats Germany to win its 3rd gold medal!

Netherlands won their third gold medal at the Olympics by shootout (3-1) after leveling the score 1-1 with Germany in regular time.

The Dutch team secured the gold following their victory at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Interestingly, in that game, they also won by shootout (5-4) after a 3-3 tie with South Korea in regulation time.

The javelin gold was not meant to be for India!

Yesterday, there were mixed emotions about Neeraj Chopra’s silver medal. While some were pleased with the achievement, others were disappointed about not winning gold.

The gold was claimed by Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who set a new Olympic record with his impressive throw of 92.97 meters.
