HALF TIME!
End of an interesting first half. Germany have positioned themselves well throughout the first 30 minutes, but they have lacked tooth inside the shooting circle. The Indian defence has been up to the mark as well.
India have mostly relied on odd runs into the circle, but have managed to pose real threats to Germany who have their goalkeeper Finja Starck for India not being able to break through.

22' - SAVE, Finja Starck!
Stellar goalkeeping this from Finja Starck, who has blocked three-back-to back shots on goal from India.
Navneet takes a shot from the top of the circle, which Starck blocks. Lalremsiami pounces on the rebound and it is blocked again, before yet another shot is taken and Starck talls once again!
India will rue not converting these opportunities!

END OF FIRST QUARTER
A rather sedate opening quarter. Both sides had their chances but the scorers remain untroubled.

15' - Germany miss PC
Bichu Devi with a good save on the first drag flick but it rises high dangerously, handing Germany a second.
The injection on the second attempt is poor and they try a variation. However there is no one to receive the pass and the ball rolls out of play.
That brings an end to the first quarter.

15' - PC, GERMANY!
Germany open up the Indian defence completely with a solo runner. Lalthanluangi intercepts it to avoid the danger.
The on field umpire notes it to be a penalty corner. India are unhappy and ask for a review.
The Indians are proven wrong. Germany have a PC with two seconds remaining in first quarter.
A poor use of review from India.

5' - Swing and a miss!
India create a move against the run of play and it is Sakshi Rana who pushes the ball into the circle from the right.
Navneet Kaur stretched her stick and missed, but Salima Tete is present to take it.
However, Tete is marked and she tries to swing hastily and misses. That was the first real chance of the match for either sides.
