They found a second goal via Harjeet Singh and have since never left the circle. They kept posing questions one after the other to the Dragons defence, who have done well to ensure that the Soorma do not run away with it.

The Dragons, though, can't just afford to sit back and defend. They need a change in strategy and the half time could not have come at a better time for Amit Rohidas and co.

30' - Soorma miss three PCs

A good ball into the circle from Nicolas Keenan and the Soorma feel they should get a penalty corner. They ask for a review and are proven right.

The first drag flick smashes Amit Rohidas and they are handed a second. David Harte and Martin Zwicker at the post somehow combine to keep the second drag flick out before the Soorma are handed a third.

David Harte just kicks away the third on target drag flick from Harmanpreet with ease. That was hit with such power that the ball has reached the mid-line following the rebound off Harte.

26' - Defensive lapse from Dragons

Soorma look to drill the ball into the circle but it goes to Amit Rohidas instead. The Dragons captain can't trap it cleanly and conceds the ball to Gurjant.

Gurjant looks to pass it through but there was no one else inside the circle for Soorma. The Dragons take control and clear it away.

Once again a good run from Soorma and Harjeet Singh reaches the top of the shooting circle with the ball. He senses he is surrounded and can't really pass, so switches his stick for a tomahawk and fires it in.

The shot is off target. But that was a good attempt. It was close.

22' - SAVE, HARTE!

A foot inside the shooting circle and the Soorma Hockey Club have earned their second penalty corner of the match.

Jeremy Hayward's drag flick is right on target and pierces the Dragons defence, but David Harte stretches his right leg to deflect the ball away.

The Soorma are coming into their own now. They have dominated the proceedings in the second quarter so far.

19' - SOORMA SCOREEE!

Pawan Rajbhar puts the ball into the circle right down the middle and there's chaos. The ball takes a deflection and goes towards the right. Harjeet Singh, the former India junior captain, comes rushing in to pounce on it.

Goalkeeper David Harte, too, comes down to take the ball in control, but Harjeet reaches there first. The Indian lifts the ball above a sliding Harte, with one hand off the stick, and lands it in the goal.

100 style points for Harjeet. One goal for Soorma.

END OF FIRST QUARTER

What an end to an intense first quarter. Soorma Hockey Club opened the scoring via Gurjant Singh following a defensive lapse from Tamil Nadu Dragons but the latter equalised with just seconds left on the clock, thanks to Blake Govers.

Both teams evenly matched in the first 15 minutes.

The Tamil Nadu Dragons answer back and how!

Karthi Selvam is surrounded on the left outside the circle at the baseline but he manages to squeeze the ball into the circle. Blake Govers receives the ball inside the circle, thanks to some shoddy defending from his marker Jeremy Hayward.

It's not the cleanest of traps from Govers, who is also off balance almost falling to the ground. But he fires the shot in. The ball goes through the legs of goalkeeper Vincent Vanasch and the Dragons have equalised.

The umpire asks for a review for an attacker's foot, but replays show otherwise. The goal stands.
