HIL: Soorma Hockey Club beats Tamil Nadu Dragons for bronze medal – Highlights
Highlights from the 2024-25 HIL bronze medal match between Soorma Hockey Club and Tamil Nadu Dragons.

HIL Highlights: The Soorma Hockey Club walked away with the bronze medal in the 2024-25 Hockey India League as they took down Tamil Nadu Dragons 3-2 in the third-place match at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Saturday.
Gurjant Singh, Harjeet Singh, and Prabhjot Singh found the net for the Soorma, whereas Blake Govers and Jip Janssen scored for the Dragons, who bow out of the competition with four successive losses.

46' - David Harte goes off
David Harte, who has been one of Dragon's best performers of the season, has been pulled out of the field. They have replaced him with the young Princedeep Singh in front of the goal.
This is to ensure that they have an extra foreign outfield player as they search for an equaliser.

END OF THIRD QUARTER
Mohammed Raheel drills the ball into the circle from outside the 23-yard line but there's no deflection inside the shooting circle. Vincent Vanasch just lets the ball thud into the goal. Of course, it won't count.
That also brings curtain down on the third quarter. The Dragons started off well but soon fizzled out. The Soorma continued their ritual of not scoring from penalty corners, missing three within a span of two minutes.

42' - Soorma missed yet another PC
Soorma Hockey Club have made a habit of missing PCs, haven't they? This was supposed to be their strongest point pre-season.
Another penalty corner for them and it is Nicolas della Torre, who is handed the responsibility this time. Fires it way over the goal post.

42' - SAVE, HARTE!
Gurjant Singh with some smart work inside the circle to earn a PC for Soorma.
Jeremy Hayward with a high drag flick this time and it was on target. David Harte makes goalkeeping look easy with his save.

41' - Soorma miss PC
Some good work on the right from Boris Burkhardy, who pushes the ball into Ludwig Moritz to earn a penalty corner for Soorma.
However, Harmanpreet doesn't get a hold of the ball with the drag flick and the Dragons negate it with ease.

39' - Soorma taking control
The Tamil Nadu Dragons had started off well with some good runs but the Soorma Hockey Club have settled in now. That early burst of energy from the Dragons is nowhere to be seen in the last few minutes and Soorma have done well to soak in the pressure.

33' - Govers goes high
A good set up from the right from the Dragons as the ball finds Blake Govers in the circle. The Australian turns around and takes a shot, but it hits a defender's stick and goes high.
The Dragons have a long corner and the ball finds Thomas Sorsby on the left, who tries to slot the ball into the top left corner of the goal but is way off target.
Encouraging signs for the Dragons.
