FIH Women's Junior World Cup 2025 LIVE: The Indian women's hockey team opened their 2025 FIH Women's Junior World Cup campaign with a 13-0 win against Namibia in Santigao, Chile on Monday.
The Indians were in stellar touch in the match and the debutants had no chance. While Kanika Siwach and Hina Bano scored hat-tricks, Sakshi Rana scored a brace.
Binima Dhan, Sonam, Sakshi Shukla, Ishika, and Manisha also entered their name in the scoresheet as India completed an emphatic win.

A penalty corner for India and Kanika Siwach's drag flick hits the post woman on her feet, handing India a second chance.
The second drag flick is also blocked from going in. India try to push the rebound into the net as well but no avail.

36' - Tenth of the night for India!
It just keeps getting better for India. For a change, this time the shooting circle is crowded but the Indians emerge out on top after multiple passes amidst the chaos.
Ishika gets the final touch as India have their tenth goal of the evening.

35' - There's one more!
A stunning steal on the left flank from Purnima Yadav and the Namibia defence isn't even interested in chasing her. She crosses it to Hina Bano at the centre of the circle, who deflects it in comfortably.
Two goals within a matter of seconds for India and Hina Bano, who now has a brace.

As soon as I type that, Hina Bano has made her way to the scoresheet. The same old defensive woes for Namibia as a long pass finds Bano inside the circle.
She goes a bit wide and fires a reverse stick into the far top corner.

That also brings an end to the first half. India were the top favourites coming into the contest and they have just destroyed the debutants.
The biggest problem for Namibia has been their shoddy defence and some really good goalkeeping hasn't been able to save them.
They've rarely created any chances for themselves either and the second half would be all about how much more can India add?

30' - Kanika scores her second!
Kanika Siwach, who has just returned to field after a two-minute green card suspension, receives the ball at the centre of the circle. She turns around a fires a shot, but the goalkeeper has done well to cut down the angle and deny.
The rebound falls to Siwach only and before the goalkeeper recoveres, she puts it back into the net. There were three defenders present there and surprisingly neither one of them seemed interested to stop that.
India won't mind nor would Siwach, who now has a brace.

27' - Sakshi Shukla gets on to the score card
A backstick inside the circle from Namibia and India have a penalty corner. Sakshi Shukla with the drag flicking duties this time around.
The first one takes a defender's foot and India are re-awarded the PC. Sakshi makes no mistake the second time around and the ball thuds into the back of the net.
This is turning out to be a night of Sakshis, isn't it?
