FIH Women's Junior World Cup 2025 LIVE: The Indian women's hockey team opened their 2025 FIH Women's Junior World Cup campaign with a 13-0 win against Namibia in Santigao, Chile on Monday.
The Indians were in stellar touch in the match and the debutants had no chance. While Kanika Siwach and Hina Bano scored hat-tricks, Sakshi Rana scored a brace.
Binima Dhan, Sonam, Sakshi Shukla, Ishika, and Manisha also entered their name in the scoresheet as India completed an emphatic win.

23' - Sakshi scores!
Sakshi Rana receives the ball nearly at the half-line and she runs around the Namibian defence, who are completely clueless. Rana goes towards the right and fires a shot into the top left corner of the goal post.
She made it look like a training drill did Rana. A brace for her in the World Cup opener!

21' - SAVED, AGAIN!
India enter the circle from the left this time around and the ball finds Kanika Siwach. She loses her marker and unleashes a powerful tomahawk and tumbles on the ground after firing it in.
That was struck fiercely and the goalkeeper loses her glove as she blocks it.

A good steal from India and they create a quick move. Ishika seems to be in 1v1 with the goalkeeper, but she selflessly crosses it to her teammate, whose shot is blocked by the goalkeeper.

India continue from where they left off in the first quarter. Two circle penetrations already, both from the right. But Namibia has it in control with the ball intercepted once before Binima put one wide.

END OF FIRST QUARTER!
This also brings an end to the first quarter of play. India were denied for the first ten minutes, thanks to some top-notch goalkeeping by Namibia.
However, once Sonam broke through in the tenth minute, the floodgates opened up. They scored four times in the next five minutes and are now cruising.

India showing no signs of slowing down. A complete team effort this time around. Hina Bano receives the ball inside the circle from the right wing.
She is showboating now as she nutmegs herself to push the ball towards the goal post, where Sonam gets a perfect deflection to slot it in.
India have scored four in the first 15 minutes.

Binima Dhan with a solo run from nearly the half-way mark. She dribbles past two defenders at the top of the circle, goes wide to the right before firing the shot to the far bottom corner.

Two goals in two minutes now for India!
The Namibian defence is split open as Kanika Siwach receives the ball right at the centre of the shooting circle. There is no one to mark her.
Siwach takes her own sweet time to look up before firing the shot into the net!

It was just a matter of time with India's relentless attacks and the deadlock has been broken 10 minutes into the match.
Sakshi Rana receives the ball just outside the shooting circle. She runs around the defence to enter the circle and fires a tomahawk from top of the shooting circle into the lower right corner.
