The India Maharajas lost by 3 wickets with 3 balls remaining to the World Giants side on Saturday. Naman Ojha's 140 seemed to have put the Indian legends on way to their second win, but a miraculous batting effort by Imran Tahir won the game for the World XI side.

    Pietersen attacks but earns Munaf Patel's ire, Trott retires hurt

    Pietersen pulls out two massive pulls for sixes against Munaf - gets himself back on strike with a single off the last ball. Pietersen is a man on a mission. Trott at the other end is in trouble - strains his back and is down on the ground, needing medical attention.

    Munaf Patel meanwhile is extremely unhappy with something Pietersen did - could be the moment when Piersen ran into a throw - but the Englishman refuses to take him seriously. Badrinath tries to calm Munaf down. 'Ye galat hai,' Munaf is heard saying.

    After a tight first over by RP Singh, Munaf Patel is hit for a few fours by Kevin O' Brien. Venugopal Rao with a 'catch of the match' at fine leg. The Irish batsman is astounded by the catch. He is out for 9. Jonathan Trott joins his old English teammate at 3.

    Time for the chase. Kevin Pietersen and Kevin O' Brien, two big-hitting Kevins from across the English-Irish border, open the World Giants innings. Yusuf Pathan seen saying something with a big grin to KP as he walks in. 

    Irfan Pathan has been rested today, RP Singh is in the XI in his place and he takes the new ball for India.

    Naman Ojha is out for 140 off 69 balls. Caught in the deep by Imran Tahir, who applauds Ojha as he walks back. Yusuf Pathan comes in to bat in the last over and smashes the last ball for a monstrous six. India score 209/3 in their 20 overs. Ojha (140) and Kaif (53*) the two highest scorers in the innings. Ojha scored the first 100 of this tournament.

    Tahir has been expensive - spinners have not fared very well in this tournament so far, not even Muralitharan - so far, but he concedes just 5 runs in his last over. Kaif, approaching his 50, is kept quiet by a few yorkers by Albie. Excellent death over bowling from him, just like his CSK and South Africa days.
