India heads into Day 6 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 on the back of another productive day in Glasgow, winning six medals across three different sports.
On Tuesday, Harjinder Kaur and Gulveer Singh stole the spotlight for India, winning a silver medal each in the women's 69kg weightlifting and men's 10,000m, respectively, with record-breaking performances.
Meanwhile, three boxers - Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas and Jadumani Singh - progressed to the semi-finals of their respective weight categories to guarantee themselves at least bronze medals.
Elsewhere, Srihari Nataraj finished sixth in his semi-final and 12th overall, failing to make it past the men's 100m backstroke final. He clocked 55.52s.
Vishal TK, India's national record holder in the men's 400m, also advanced to the semi-finals with a 46.49s run.

Weightlifting, Women's 63Kg Final: Nirupama starts her Clean & Jerk as well with a foul
She failed her first attempt at 123 Kg, which could have confirmed her a medal.
She will still have two more chances to bag a medal.

Weightlifting, Women's 63Kg Final: Nirumpama Devi ends the Snatch competition in 5th place
With only one valid attempt of 93 Kg, Nirupama has fallen back further down in the rankings to 5th place.
However, she will be aiming to come back strongly in the Clean & Jerk, where she has given the third-best entry in the finals field.
Her personal best in C&J stands at 127 Kg, which she lifted at the 2026 National Championships.

Weightlifting, Women's 63Kg Final: Another failed attempt for Nirumpama at 95Kg
Nirumpama was attempting an Indian national record lift of 95 Kg but failed to complete it and ended her snatch competition with 93Kg.
She is currently in third position, with two more lifters yet to start their event.

Weightlifting, Women's 63Kg Final: Nirupama Devi lifts 93Kg finally on her second attempt
After a missed chance on her first, she bounced back strongly and looked much more comfortable on her second attempt to lift 93kg.
She is currently in top position, but four weightlifters have yet to start their competition.

Nirupama Devi will represent India in the women's 63 Kg final, hoping to continue the medal rush of Indian weightlifters in Glasgow.
There will be 11 entries, and the fight for a medal will be a lot more intense in this weight category as five weightlifters have put their snatch first attempt mark above 90kg.
Three weightlifters will start at 95Kg, while two weightlifters, including Nirupama, are expected to begin their Snatch competition at 93Kg.

Vishal TK storms into 400m semi-finals!
India's Vishal TK booked his place in the men's 400m semi-finals after clocking 46.49s in Heat 6 of Round 1.
The national record holder produced a strong run to secure one of the 16 fastest times overall, advancing to the semi-finals, which will be held on July 30.

Rajesh Ramesh bows out of men's 400m!
India's Rajesh Ramesh has been knocked out in the men's 400m Round 1 after clocking 47.43s.
Ramesh slipped to 17th overall after the completion of all six heats, narrowly missing out on a place in the 16-athlete semi-final field by one position.

Srihari Nataraj qualifies for 100m backstroke semi-finals!
India's Srihari Nataraj has booked his place in the men's 100m backstroke semi-finals after clocking 55.58s in the heats.
Srihari finished fifth in his heat, but his time was enough to secure a place in the semis. He will return to the pool later tonight with a place in the final at stake.
