India heads into Day 6 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 on the back of another productive day in Glasgow, winning six medals across three different sports.
On Tuesday, Harjinder Kaur and Gulveer Singh stole the spotlight for India, winning a silver medal each in the women's 69kg weightlifting and men's 10,000m, respectively, with record-breaking performances.
Meanwhile, three boxers - Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas and Jadumani Singh - progressed to the semi-finals of their respective weight categories to guarantee themselves at least bronze medals.
Elsewhere, Srihari Nataraj finished sixth in his semi-final and 12th overall, failing to make it past the men's 100m backstroke final. He clocked 55.52s.
Vishal TK, India's national record holder in the men's 400m, also advanced to the semi-finals with a 46.49s run.

Bowls, Men's Pairs, India vs Cook Islands: Cook Islands equalise the score.
End 2 was not at all in India's favour as they struggled to get their bowls near the jack. The Cook Islands cracked the code, took one point and levelled the score at 1-1.

Boxing, Women's 54kg: Preeti wins Round 1 unanimously
A rapid start with both pugilists sharing blows in the first thirty seconds. Both are eager to start on the offensive and this is some brilliant aggressive boxing.
Preeti takes over by mid-way of that round. She's now landing punches one after the other and Nicole Clyde has no answers.
The judges' agree as well and Preeti takes it unanimously!

India may have started with just one point, but this point can be very important in building an early lead. The score after End 1 is 1-0 in India's favour.

Boxing, Women's 54kg: Preeti is in the blue corner
Preeti is in the blue corner for the bout. Both she and her opponent had a first round bye and started their campaign in the Round of 16.
This is just their second bout of the campaign.

Boxing, Women's 54kg QF: Preeti Pawar to be in action
Preeti Pawar will go up against Nicole Clyde of Northern Ireland in the women's 54kg boxing quarter-finals in just a bit.
A win will secure Preeti what will be India's second boxing medal of the 2026 Commonwealth Games after Lovlina Borgohain was assured of one even before the opening ceremony.
Borgohain had received a first round bye and will start her campaign directly in the semi-finals of women's 75kg.

India starts its second half in bowls with men's pairs match against the Cook Islands. India will be represented by Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar, who were both part of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. They will be hoping to repeat that success in Glasgow.
They will be in action at 10:20 p.m. IST.

Weightlifting, Women's 63Kg Final: Heartbreak for Nirupama; missed all three C&J attempts
Nirupama Devi failed to record any valid lift in the Clean & Jerk, ending her competition without a medal.
She missed all three attempts at 123 kg. Had she successfully lifted any of those, at least a bronze medal would have been secured.
Her personal best in the Clean & Jerk stands at 127 kg, meaning she has lifted more than this in the past. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t her day, and she missed out on a medal.

Weightlifting, Women's 63Kg Final: Pressure is mounting on Nirupama as she misses her second consecutive Clean and Jerk attempt
Once again, Nirupama had a good 'Clean' but then she couldn't find a jerk and failed to lift the barbell above her head, missing her second consecutive chance.
She has one more attempt to go, which will decide her fate in Glasgow.
