India heads into Day 6 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 on the back of another productive day in Glasgow, winning six medals across three different sports.
On Tuesday, Harjinder Kaur and Gulveer Singh stole the spotlight for India, winning a silver medal each in the women's 69kg weightlifting and men's 10,000m, respectively, with record-breaking performances.
Meanwhile, three boxers - Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas and Jadumani Singh - progressed to the semi-finals of their respective weight categories to guarantee themselves at least bronze medals.
Elsewhere, Srihari Nataraj finished sixth in his semi-final and 12th overall, failing to make it past the men's 100m backstroke final. He clocked 55.52s.
Vishal TK, India's national record holder in the men's 400m, also advanced to the semi-finals with a 46.49s run.

Bowls, Men's Pairs, India vs Cook Islands: Cook Islands win the first set.
End 5 did end in India’s favour, giving them one point. However, Cook Islands dominated the set by getting their bowls closest to the jack in almost every end, finishing the set with a score of 5-2.

End 4 did not go the way India would have hoped. They were unable to get any of their bowls close to the jack, while Cooks successfully placed theirs near the jack, giving them a massive lead.

Boxing, Women's 60kg: Priya Ghanghas to be in action soon
Priya Ghanghas will be the next in action in what is an evening of boxing action for India.
She goes up against Niamh Mitchell of Scotland in the women's 60kg quarter-finals.
Again, a win and that is one more medal assured for India.

Boxing, Women's 54kg: Preeti Pawar is through to the semi-final!
Preeti can manage to sit back and relax in the final round to conserve some energy. Will she be happy to do it though?
She's moving all around the ring is now Preeti, making it extremely difficult for Nicole Clyde to land anything of note.
Another standing count warning for Clyde and that is the third of the bout for her. One more and Preeti will have a RSC victory.
It doesn't happen though. Clyde holds herself well.
Preeti, inevitably, wins by a 5-0 unanimous decision!
She is through to the semi-finals. India are assured of a medal in women's 54kg boxing.

Bowls, Men's Pairs, India vs Cook Islands: Cook Islands take a one-point lead.
End 3 started well for India as they got several of their bowls close to the jack. However, the Cook Islands changed the game with their final two bowls, taking control of the end and picking up one point.

Boxing, Women's 54kg: Preeti Pawar takes Round 2
Preeti starts from where she left off in the opening round and she is all over Clyde once again.
The Indian is moving quite well. She's soft on her feet and quick to jump around, dodging any real threat the Northern Ireland boxer.
There's now a standing count warning against Nicole Clyde as Preeti Pawar continues to dominate.
Won't be surprised if this is an unanimous decision in the favour of the Indian.
