Tanvi Sharma's steady rise in women's singles badminton continues as she reached a career high world No 34 in the latest rankings released by the Badminton World Federation on Tuesday.

Sharma's latest ascent comes following her commendable run into the semi-finals at the 2026 Orleans Masters Super 300 in France last week.

The 17-year-old shot up by four places in the latest rankings and is India's third highest ranked shuttler in women's singles behind PV Sindhu (world No 13) and Unnati Hooda (world No 27).

Hooda, who clinched the title at the 2026 Polish Open, also improved her ranking by a solitary spot.

Meanwhile, Isharani Baruah, who also reached the semi-finals at the Orleans Masters, also gained for places and is now ranked world No 40.

Elsewhere, Lakshya Sen (world No 12) and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty (world No 4) maintained their rankings from the week before.
