Hello and welcome to the Day 3 live blog of The Bridge for the German Open 2022!
So far, in the women's singles, both PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have crashed out of the Super 300 and could not make it till the quarterfinals.
In the men's singles, we have Kidambi Srikanth who has booked his spot in the quarters. Lakshya and Prannoy have also booked their tickets to the quarters.
In the doubles, the men's duo of Ishaan Bhatnagar/Sai Pratheek lost to the pair of Krishna Prasad/Vishnuvardhan Goud who are into the quarters.
In the women's, the combine of Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand also lost.

So far, it's just been Kidambi Srikanth who has booked his place in the quarters!
Kidambi Srikanth is the only won who managed to win and sail into quarters. Both Sindhu and Saina have lost and ended India's campaign in the Women's Singles.

And Saina Nehwal fails to win against Ratchanok Intanon...
That's the end of Saina Nehwal's campaign at the German Open 2022 as she bows out of the tournament, losing in straight games to a formidable opponent.
In all fairness, Nehwal has been struggling with injuries and is trying to come back now. Still, a long way to go to understand how her knee condition is.
Nehwal loses in straight games, 21-10, 21-15 in 31 minutes.

Saina has stepped up her game alright and is doing her best to reduce the gap in scores and take the lead, but it is always a tough task against Intanon!

Saina Nehwal cannot let Intanon tie her up in the long rallies now and needs to play smartly to ensure this game also doesn't slip away.

Ratchanok Intanon looks like she means business here, Saina struggles
The gap is glaring on the scoreboard as Saina Nehwal is having difficulty making her returns and is committing way too many errors, Intanon takes full advantage of that and is en route to closing out the first game.

Nehwal has been struggling with injuries and she isn't at her best form...
Ratchanok Intanon is as experienced as it can get, just like Saina Nehwal but while Intanon is still at the World No. 8 spot, Nehwal's injury struggles have dropped her to World No. 25 now.
Intanon shows better form and Saina is making mistakes and her pace is not right yet.
