BWF World Championship 2021: History was created on Saturday night when Kidambi Srikanth became the first Indian male badminton player to reach the final of BWF World Championship and ensure at least a silver medal, after he defeated his Indian counterpart 20-year-old Lakshya Sen by 17-21, 21-14, 21-17.

Srikanth is playing in his 6th BWF World Championships, never having reached the semi-finals before. Lakshya Sen has made the semifinals in his first attempt. Sen would also be remembering his outing winning a bronze in his maiden World Championships.
