PVL 2023 Semifinal LIVE: Kolkata Thunderbolts v/s Bengaluru Torpedoes - Updates, Results, Scores, Blog
Bengaluru Torpedoes take the third set
What a passage of play for the Benagluru Torpedpes, starting from that super point. They were down 10-12, but have managed to take the third 15-13. Stunning volleyball display from David Lee's side.
The Torpedoes go 2-1 up in the semifinal.
ANOTHER STUNNING RALLY!
That was as good a rally you would ever see. Point given in favour of Kolkata, but Bengaluru ask for a review. That is yet another stunning review from the Torpedoes as they are proven right. The ball ricocheted off Vinit's arms into the net antenna before going out. 13-13 for now in the third set.
Bengaluru win a super point
The first super point of the night won by a team and it is the Bengaluru Torpedoes who do it. Thunderbolts were ahead 12-10 and the Torpedoes called the super point. 12-12 now.
Kolkata with the lead
Kolkata Thunderbolts regain the lead, thanks to a double touch from the Torpedoes. They are up 8-7 at the timeout.
Bengaluru take the lead
A slew of points for the Torpedoes and they edge ahead at 6-5.
WHAT A RALLLLYYYY!
"That has to be the rally of the season," quips the commentator on air and I cannot disagree. That went on for ages and ages with both teams struggling to keep the ball in play, before Ashwal Rai comes up with a sensational block to help the Thunderbolts pocket that point.
Rai goes beserk after securing that point and it shows how much that meant. Thunderbolts lead 4-2.
KOLKATA EQUALISE!
The Thunderbolts have fought their way back into this contest and they have done it in some style. They win the second set 15-10. They are feeding off each other's energy on the court. Ashwal and Rahul have quite clearly been the stand out players so far, and the others are slowly finding their rhythm.
Bengaluru lose a Super Point!
Bengaluru Torpedoes trail 8-10 and David Lee calls a super point. The spike goes long and they have gifted the Thunderbolts two points here. A four-point lead now for the defending champions at 12-8.
Kolkata with the lead!
Much better from the Kolkata Thunderbolts in the second set as they lead 8-6 as we head into the timeout. Vinit Kumar, who has looked off-colour so far, seems to be getting into his zone now.
