Sajan Prakash will be in action in Heat 2 of Men's 100m Butterfly

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Bridge's LIVE Blog for the Day 6 of the swimming events at Tokyo Olympics.

As has been the case so far, there will be no finals or decisive rounds. Instead there will be heats in four events - 

1. Women's 800m Freestyle

2. Men's 100m Butterfly

3. Women's 200m Backstroke

4. Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay

The 4x100 Mixed Medley Event which has been inducted into the Olympics for the first time saw Great Britain emerging as the winners in the Heats. The British team comprising Kathleen Dawson, Adam Peaty, James Guy, and Freya Anderson finished on top with a time of 3:38.75, setting an Olympic as well as European Record in the process.

The United States of America finished second followed by China. Australia finished fourth while Italy, The Netherlands, Russian Olympic Committee, and Israel rounded off the list of finalists!

Australia's Kaylee McKeown has been in top form during the Olympics and continued to build momentum with a solid win in the Women's 200m Backstroke heats. She finished with a time of 2:08.18. Following her is America's Rhyan Elizabeth White and Canada's Kylie Masse at joint second with a time of 2:08.23!

Although Sajan Prakash was impressive in his swim and won Heat 2 with a time of 53.45 seconds, it wasn't enough to get into the last 16. Caeleb Dressel and Kristof Milak were absolutely sensational in the pool and it will be an interesting battle to keep an eye out for.

Caeleb Dressel finishes comfortably to win the final Heat of Men's 100m Butterfly. With a time of 50.39 seconds, he touches Schooling's Olympic record!

Despite not being among the top three after the first 50m split, Hungarian Kristof Milak put his foot down in the last 25m and managed to finish first with a time of 50.62!

Defending champion Joseph Schooling finishes last. Dutch Swimmer Nyls Korstanje wins this round with a time of 51.54!

India's Sajan Prakash finished second in Heat 2 with a time of 53.45 seconds! Prakash was fourth after the first 100m but put on his after-burners for the second split and finished second behind Ghana's Abeiku Jackson who had a time of 53.39! Let's see what his final overall position is once the event is concluded!

Angola's Salvador Gordo wins Heat 1 of Men's 100m Butterfly with a time of 55.96.

All eyes will now be on Sajan Prakash who competes in Heat 2!

Without any surprises, Katie Ledecky led from start to finish in the event where she holds the World and Olympic Records and finished on top of Heat 4 comfortably with a time of 8:15.67. The battle for second place was a spectacular race to witness with fellow US swimmer Katie Grimes, Italy's Simona Quadrella, and Germany's Sarah Kohler all being neck-to-neck until the final touch. 15-year-old Grimes finished second with Quadrella in third!
