HSBC has joined the DP World India Championship 2026 as a premium partner, with the tournament taking place at Delhi Golf Club from October 15-18.
The championship carries a US$4 million prize fund and features international golfers including Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Shane Lowry, alongside India’s leading professionals.
Launched in 2025 by DP World and the DP World Tour, the tournament is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). It forms part of the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai season.
HSBC joins as premium partner
HSBC’s association with the championship was announced ahead of the event. The financial terms of the agreement and the specific rights attached to the partnership have not been disclosed.
The championship’s 2026 edition features a US$4 million prize fund, described by DP World as the largest for a DP World Tour event in India. The event brings international and Indian professionals together at Delhi Golf Club for the second edition of the tournament.
Supporting Indian golfers’ international ambitions
The DP World PGTI is also working to expand international opportunities for Indian professionals. It will cover overseas qualifying-school expenses of up to ₹3 lakh for each of its top 30 players from the Order of Merit. The support applies to qualifying schools for the DP World Tour, Japan Golf Tour and Asian Tour.
Players who qualify will receive a further ₹10 lakh each.
DP World PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl said, “The DP World PGTI is covering qualifying-school expenses of up to ₹3 lakh for players in the top 30. If they qualify, each player will receive ₹10 lakh. This has already been approved; the players have been informed, and the money has been set aside. At DP World PGTI, we have always been clear that this organisation is about the players.”
The organisation is also working towards staging Asian Development Tour events next year and, hopefully, Asian Tour events, alongside more co-sanctioned tournaments that offer world-ranking points and a path towards Olympic qualification.
DP World PGTI President Kapil Dev said, “We will do everything in our power to enable our players to get maximum playing opportunities on the international stage.”
The qualifying-school support is intended to reduce the financial burden of pursuing overseas tour cards, while the championship gives Indian golfers an opportunity to compete against an international field on home soil.
