Tokyo Olympics: Shooting LIVE Day 7, July 29 - Manu Bhaker, Rahi Sarnobat exit - Updates, Scores, Result, Blog
Women's 25m Pistol Rapid stage commences
The rapid stage of women's 25m pistol is underway at the Asaka Shooting Range. 30 shots more for each shooter, and we will have our finalists in the event!
Quick RECAP
Let's take a look back at how things ended for the Indians yesterday
Manu Bhaker: The youngster finished fifth with a total score of 292 out of a possible 300 in Precision.
Rahi Sarnobat: India's more fancied shooter in 25m Women's Pistol, Rahi had a disappointing run yesterday. She finished 25th with a score of 287.
Can India finally win a shooting medal?
Well, it is a far-fetched dream, to be honest. India's best hope in Women's 25m, Rahi Sarnobat, struggled yesterday in the Precision stage and almost looks out of the final unless she produces something magical in Rapid. Though Manu Bhaker put up an impressive show, the 25m is not really her strong suit and with 30 more shots in qualification to go before the final, it is not easy to predict.
But in a sport like shooting, you never know!
Having said that one thing for sure is the fact that there is a lot riding on the shoulders of Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat today.
Bonjour!
A very warm welcome to all for our coverage of Shooting from the Asaka Shooting Range on the Day 7 of the Tokyo Olympics.
It is yet another medal day for Indian shooters and we will have their eyes fixed on Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat, who will first compete in the Women's 25m Pistol Rapid Stage; try to qualify for the final match.
There is a lot at stake today for the Indian shooting after a disappointing campaign so far. Can Manu and Rahi script a turnaround? Stay tuned to find out.
