Angad Bajwa has shot 24 out of his 25 targets in the first round and is currently ranked 16th.
Men's Skeet Qualification Rules - Explained
In the Men's Skeet event, shooters are basically expected to hit targets made of clay which are released in the air. The qualification round of this event consists of five different rounds of 25 targets each. The top six shooters who hit the highest amount of targets at the end of five rounds make it to the final, while the rest get eliminated.
Three rounds of Men's Skeet Qualification will be held today, whereas the remaining two will be held tomorrow.
A perfect 25 for Mairaj Ahmad Khan
This is a spectacular start for India's Mairaj Ahmad Khan, who has shot all his 25 targets in the first round to take up the first position comfortably in the rankings!
Angad Bajwa and Mairaj Khan start well
Both Indian men's skeet shooters have started off well. While Mairaj Khan is joint first, Angad is joint 5th currently.
Heartbreak for Indian fans
It is a very big heartbreak for the Indian fans as Manu Bhaker and Yashaswini Deswal finish 12th and 13th respectively in the qualification round. Both of them looked in good touch, but could not really make it count. The former, in particular, started off in a spectacular fashion before the gun malfunction threw her off. Yashaswini, on the other hand, was a tad bit inconsistent and that probably hurt her chances.
