Currently, India is standing in the 57th Position, while the Americans top the table with 19 golds and a total of 71 medals after the first nine days of the Olympics.
Day-9 Summary
India with a man down, played one of the best defensive games and won the quarter-final against Great Britain in the shoot-off, where Sreejesh stood like a wall and saved two crucial penalties.
The lone representative left from the Indian contingent, Lakshya Sen gave a tough fight to Viktor Axelsen in the semi-finals of the men's single. Lakshya led the first game with three game points in hand to lose it in 20-22. In the second game, Lakshya started with a 7-0 advantage, which faded away with the might of Viktor.
Lovlina Boroghain was the final hope from the Indian Boxing contingent for a medal. She lost her quarter-final to the top seed Li Qian of China.
Parul Chaudhary and Jeswin Aldrin were in action at the 70,000-seated State de France in Saint-Denis, France.
Maheshwari Chauhan, Vijayveer Sidhu, and Anish Bhanwala missed out on the qualification for the finals by a small margin.
Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar finished with T40 and T45 in the individual stroke play event.
Sailing
Nethra Kumanan is currently 25th in the Women's Dinghy event and needs a strong finish in the last two races to reach the Top 20. Vishnu Saravanan performed well in the Men's Dinghy event, moving up to 18th place after finishing 13th and 7th in the most recent races.
