The Day 12 of the 2025 National Games saw a lot of action, especially in athletics. The country's star hurdlers Jyothi Yarraji and Tejas Shirse won their third straight gold medal in women's 100m hurdles and men's 110m hurdlers respectively on Sunday.
Besides, Bapi Hansda starred in men's 400m, winning gold. A relatively unknown Moumita Mondol too shot to fame, winning two medals on the day in two separate track and field events.

Moumita Mondol bagged twin medals in two separate track and field disciplines. While she clinched the silver medal behind Jyoti Yarraji in women's 100m hurdles, she also bagged the women's long jump gold in the day.
Karnataka men's hockey team faced their first defeat of the tournament, losing a very close (4-5) high-scoring match against Madhya Pradesh in their final group match.
Despite the loss, Karnataka continued to lead the points table of group A with 9 points out of 4 matches, closely followed by Odisha, who outclassed Manipur in their third group match.
