Services reaffirmed their supremacy in the 38th National Games by topping the medal tally in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

The contingent, representing the armed forces, finished with 121 medals, including 68 gold, 26 silver, and 27 bronze.

This marked their fifth overall top-of-the-table finish in the last six editions, with the only exception being the 2023 National Games in Goa, where Maharashtra claimed the top spot.

Despite winning the most medals, Maharashtra had to settle for second place with 198 total medals - 55 gold, 70 silver, and 73 bronze - as the gold medal count determines rankings.

With 153 medals (48 gold, 47 silver, 58 bronze), Haryana finished third.

Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh completed the top five, winning 34 and 33 gold medals, respectively.

Tamil Nadu (26 gold), host state Uttarakhand (24 gold), West Bengal (16 gold), Punjab (15 gold), and Delhi (15 gold) rounded off the top 10 of the medal table.

The Games began on January 28 and will officially conclude on Friday with a closing ceremony in Haldwani, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in attendance.

In women’s hockey, Haryana avenged their previous edition’s defeat by thrashing Madhya Pradesh 4-1 in the final at Haridwar to claim the gold medal.

In the men's hockey final, Karnataka triumphed over Uttar Pradesh, winning the final 3-2 and taking home the gold medal, their 34th in the Games.
