Day 5 starts with a national record breaking performance by Ram Baboo of Uttar Pradesh in the 35km Race Walk.

Ram Baboo created history in the 35km race walk after he broke the 11-year-old record of Juned Khan. Ram Baboo clinched gold in the event with a timing of 2:36:34. Ram shelved close to four minutes from the previous national record created by Juned Khan in Ranchi.

Juned clinched silver with a timing of 2:40:51 and Chandan Singh won the bronze with a timing of 2:44:02.
