National Games 2025 Day-5: Rahi Sarnobat wins the women's 25m pistol title - Highlights

The 38th edition of the National Games continued with the exciting sporting extravaganza on Sunday. Medals were on offer at events like Squash, Shooting, and Kabaddi.
The team event of squash ended today with the medal matches whereas sports like swimming and weightlifting continued with their medal events.
In addition, team sports like Basketball, Volleyball, and Kabaddi had their final matches today.
As it happened:
Abhay Singh skipped the semi-final, giving a bye to Rahul Baitha who will take on Velavan Senthil Kumar in the final tomorrow,
Velavan took a comfortable straight-game victory against Suraj Chand to book his spot in the Final.

Nina Venkatesh of Karnataka gets better of her teammate Dhinidhi to win the women's 50m Butterfly gold medal.

Uttar Pradesh clinched the men's team title after winning a high-scoring battle (57-43) against Chandigarh.

Himachal Pradesh clinched the women's team title after winning a close battle (27-22) against Haryana in the final.

Tamil Nadu men's team clinched the team title with a comfortable 2-0 win against Maharashtra in the final. Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar showed their class to take Tamil Nadu to the top of the podium.

Maharashtra women's team clinched the team title with a 2-1 win against Tamil Nadu in a hard-fought final. Rathika Seelan was the only player to win a match for Tamil Nadu.

Bronze - Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan
Ashi, representing Madhya Pradesh, shot a brilliant score of 598/600 in the women's 3 Positions rifle event. Sift Kaur Samra finished second with 592/600 to qualify for the final.
Ashi's 598 is better than the current women's 3P Qualification world record of 596. However, It will not be counted as this is a national competition.
Indian pistol shooter Rahi Sarnobat of Maharashtra clinched the gold medal in the women's 25m pistol event, overcoming the challenge of youngster Simranpreet Kaur.
