India held Japan to a dramatic 2-2 draw in a nail-biting encounter that went on till after the final hooter. Japan regained the lead with just three minutes remining through a well-taken penalty stroke, putting the pressure back on India.
But the Indian team showed great resilliance and responded immediately, earning two back-to-back penalty corners — both of which narrowly missed converting. Refusing to give up, India came back once again and won another penalty corner just before the final hooter. Naveet stepped up and netted the ball to get the much-deserved goal to draw 2-2. It was indeed a high-quality clash.
