The Indian women led by the experienced Salima Tete have made it to the quarterfinals of the ongoing Junior Women's Hockey World Cup following an unbeaten run in the group stages. Their unbeaten run in Pool D not only helped them top their group, but has also helped them avoid defending champions Argentina in the final eight.

While goalkeeper Bichu Devi Kharibam has undoubtedly been the biggest star for India, there have been some very vital contributions from the likes of Mumtaz Khan and others. Can the Indian women ease into the semifinals?

A clinical, clinical win for India as they ease past South Korea 3-0. The women in blue started off well, scoring twice in the first quarter and kept South Korea in check right from then. The goal from Sangita late in the third quarter just added salt to the wounds of the Koreans.

The Koreans did try their best to force themselves back into the contest and came close to scoring a couple of times in the second and third quarter, but they lacked creativity in their attacks and failed to break the Indian defence open. Once they trailed by 3 goals going into the final quarter, the final 15 minutes was all about going through the motions as India did not give anything away.

Off India goes into the SEMIFINALS!

India are just playing around with the South Koreans at the moment. They keep the possession and keep penetrating the circle, but the South Korean defence is still stubborn.

Sharmila Devi has now picked up a green card for hitting the ball after the whistle. Unnecessary from the youngster and India are down to 10 players.

The result seems ominous here. South Korea have been excellent in the defence, but their strikers have dug themselves into a hole. India found the back of the net once again and look all set to ease into the Semifinals.

India has their third and it has come via Sangita. A chip-pass in from the left flank into the circle with two Indian strikers present against the lone goalkeeper. The South Korean tries to flick it away, but the Indians are too good to miss out as Sangita slots it in after a short pass from the other player present in the circle.

Lalremsiami finds the gap, runs in and tries to fire it in to the far left post. It just goes wide after the deflection. That was a wonderful display from the veteran.

Sharmila Devi with a wonderful penetration from the right flank and finds Mumtaz Khan to perfection. The striker is one on one with the South Korean goalkeeper, who does well to deny the Indian.

That was a golden opportunity for South Korea to reduce their deficit, but they fail to convert as the deflection goes well above the crossbar.

South Korea are creating half chances and are enjoying the possession early on in the third quarter. Sloppy from India as they gift a PC to Korea - their first of the match.
