Yet another PC for Japan, and India's first rusher Mahima has almost reached the Japanese dragflicker before she could take a shot. Intercepted cleanly with the stick and that's disappointment once again for Japan.

A challenge from Rutaja hands Japan a PC. But, they fail to trap the injection cleanly and there goes yet another chance.

Much like Aditi, Misaki blocks on the other side of the field for Japan. This was a nice move from India on the counter, but the Japanese goalkeeper had it in control.

There goes the hooter and we have a goalless first half. Both teams had their moments, especially via penalty corners but could not convert. Other than that, it has been a pretty inspired show by the defensive units of both teams with the goalkeepers hardly tested.
