The Indian women's hockey team's bid to start the FIH Pro League on a winning note has been spoiled by China, who was too hard of an opponent for India. China defeated India 2-1 after coming back from a goal down at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.Dan Wen and Gu Bingfeng scored the goals for China in the 40th and 52nd minutes. India, however, took the lead in the match when Vandana Katariya scored a goal in the 15th minute. Wen troubled the Indian defence towards the end, forcing too many penalty corners for China. Bingfeng scored from a rebound in one of them. India has also suffered due to poor execution in the circle. This was China's first win against India in the FIH Pro League.
