FIH Women's World Cup Qualifiers Final Highlights: Having already secured their spots in the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup, India and England will faced-off for the bragging rights in the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup Qualifiers Final in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The hosts ended up on the wrong side of the result, falling to a 0-2 loss.

Salima Tete and co wanted to play attacking hockey and they did exactly that posing constant questions to the English defence. But they just couldn't break through – its an area that Sjored Marijne will have to get some improvements in over the next few months.

Elizabeth Neal and Grace Balsdon scored for England as they took the gold medal.

That's all we have from India's campaign at the 2026 FIH Women's Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad.

It didn't end the way Sjoerd Marijne had hoped for, but the team did achieve what they set out for -- qualifying for the 2026 FIH Women's Hockey World Cup.

The coach wanted them to play attacking hockey and they did exactly that, remaining unbeaten until the final.

While Salima Tete and co have looked positive, it has to be noted that England in the final were the only higher ranked team they faced in the tournament and the scoreline in the match didn't look pretty.

There's still a lot of work to be done behind the scenes, if India are to be competitive come the World Cup in August.

Thank you for joining into our coverage! See you next time.

There's the inevitable. England take the gold medal at the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup Qualifiers.

The Hyderabad crowd has been silenced. Hosts India have to settle for second spot on the podium.

Lalremsiami with a good run into the circle and she pushes it to a defender's foot to earn India a PC!

Navneet's drag flick is intercepted by Sophie Hamilton at the backline. India try to pounce on the rebound, but to no avail.

The time's running out and it feels India have already accepted their fate. Is it a conscious decision to not push too hard in this quarter?

The final quarter has been rather sedate. The high intensity attacking hockey we've seen so far has gone missing.

Amy Thompson, meanwhile, is back on field. It wasn't the nose. She had copped the blow to her head. She has heavily bandaged it and is playing.

Another quarter with end-to-end hockey. India again had their chances and they again fail to convert, despite starting well.

England, on the other hand, have doubled their lead late in the quarter.

Can India fight back in the final quarter?

Elisabeth Neal drills the ball into the circle from the right flank after receiving from Holly Hunt.

The ball has somehow ended in the goalpost from that angle, trickling past Bichu Devi. England are celebrating the goal, but India ask for a review.

They feel Neal's drill was from outside the circle. The TV umpire is checking multiple angles. It shows that the ball hit Manisha Chauhan's foot before going into the goal.

The TV umpire says "No advice possible."

But the Indians are unhappy. They protest once again and the on field umpire goes to the TV umpire once again.

She reiterates that there's no advice possible. THE GOAL STANDS! It is credited to Neal.

Ishika with a good run and circle penetration from the right. She puts the ball to Navneet, whose shot is deflected away for a long corner.

India create a move out of the long corner as well and there's a massive chaos in front of the goal. There are multiple stabs at the ball, but not enough to put it in or earn a penalty corner.

A brilliant solo run from Salima Tete. She is known for her speed and she just keeps going in her trademark fashion.

Tete succeeds in drawing a foul out of the English defence and earns India a penalty corner.

The drag flicking duties fall to Annu this time and it is once again blocked by the goalkeeper Sabbie Heesh, who has replaced Pritchard in this quarter.
