Aryan Nehra finished seventh in the men's 800m freestyle final, clocking 8:07.26 at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
Australia dominated the event, with Sam Short winning gold in 7:39.81, followed by compatriots Benjamin Goedemans (7:46.49) and Maximillian Galea (7:47.10), completing an Australian clean sweep of the podium.
Boxing, Men's 70kg R16: Sumit Kundu loses Round 2 via split
The second round starts in a similar fashion. Not a lot to separate the two pugilists.
A very tactical bout this now as both are just happy to wait around for their chances. Not as many punches landed compared to the first rounds, but Sumit has managed to land a couple.
A very cagey bout and the second round falls in favour of McConnel with a 3-2 split.

Both pugilists equally matched in the early exchanges but it is Sumit, who is itching to attack.
McConnell is avoiding so far, using the space of the ring to good effect.
A couple of clean punches from Sumit and McConnell responds kindly with a left jab.
A point deduction for McConnell for excessive holding and that should help Sumit Kundu in what has been a close battle.
Athletics, Men's High Jump Final: Aadarsh Ram starts with a 2.10m clearance on his first attempt
Aadarsh waited for an hour and 30 minutes for his first attempt but held his composure and made a clean jump on his first attempt at 2.10m.
With this, he has now taken the lead as he is the first jumper to clear this mark.

Sumit Kundu is up in the ring to open his Commonwealth Games campaign in men's 70kg.
He is in the red corner and goes up against Jon McConnel of Northern Ireland.

Tejaswin didn't feel well and hence decided not to make any more attempts in the final.
He had doubts from the start of the final, as he was listed as a DNS before the event, but he later decided to continue.

Weightlifting, Men's 79kg: Ajaya Babu Valluri to take centre stage
Ajaya Babu Valluri will be the next Indian in action, competing in men's 79kg weightlifting. Much like all the Indians in the sport, Ajaya will also start as a strong medal contender.
He'll start at 145kg in snatch and 175kg in clean & jerk. It is the joint highest for both along with Malaysia's Erry Hidayat Muhammad. Expect a cracking contest...
It is slated to start at 12:30 am IST, but Ajaya will start lifting much later.
