Sindhu takes the first game!

Four consecutive points for Sindhu after Li levelled up and she has scraped through to pocket the first game 21-17. Don't think Sindhu expected such a fight from Li.

Li draws level

A good fight back from the Canadian to draw level at 16-16. Some great defensive play from Li there.

11-9

Sindhu has looked good so far and she has a slender 11-9 at the first mid-game break of the match. Li has been good too, but she would want to cut down on her errors if she is to put the Indian under pressure.

Beautiful start for Sindhu!

Sindhu asserting her dominance right away as she races to a 5-2 lead in no time. Remember, she has never lost to Li!

INDIA BLANKS GERMANY 5-0

What a start to the Indian Thomas Cup campaign. They have crushed Germany 5-0 with relative ease. Kidambi Srikanth and the men's doubles pair of Satwik-Chirag dropped a game each, but they came out strongly in the remaining two to ensure no hiccups for India in their opening tie.

Here are the Results of India's Thomas Cup tie against Germany:

PRANNOY WINSSSS!

Identical scorelines in both games as HS Prannoy breezes past Kiclitz 21-9, 21-9 within no time. The Indian was the favourite coming into this contest, but this was a domination of some different level from Prannoy.

11-6

Much improved show from Kicklitz this time around, but Prannoy once again has a comfortable five-point lead at 11-6 before the mid-game break.
