India have pocketed their first win of Uber Cup 2022. Not the most convincing of victories, but they will take it. PV Sindhu started it off, before Aakarshi, Ashmita, and doubles pair of Tanisha-Treesa ensured the win.

The only loss for India came in the first doubles match when Shruti and Simran went down in straight games.

What a come from behind victory this for Ashmita Chaliha. She pockets the decider 22-20 to clinch the match.

Final Scoreline in favour of Ashmita:

12-21, 21-11, 22-20

This is going right down the wire. Who will hold their nerves better? Can Rachel Chan salvage a win here for Canada?

2022-05-08 15:53 GMT

WHAT A FIGHTBACK FROM THE YOUNG ASHMITA CHALIHA. She has overcome the six-point deficit to draw level at 17-17.

This seems to be slipping away fast from the hands of Ashmita. She trails 9-15.

A healthy 11-6 lead for Rachel Chan before the change of sides in the decider. Ashmita has dug herself into a hole here, can she come out of it? This does seem like an uphill task for the Indian now.

2022-05-08 15:41 GMT

The Canadian has started well and has opened up a 6-3 lead. Pressure slowly building on the Indian.

2022-05-08 15:37 GMT

Wow, what a comeback. Ashmita, out of nowhere, has decimated Rachel 21-11 in the second game. The only question now is if she can maintain her momentum?

2022-05-08 15:33 GMT

Ashmita Chaliha is on a roll now. She has raced to an 18-10 lead in the second game. The decider is well and truly on now.
