The Indian men's doubles pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia in straight games to advance to the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics 2023 as the Group C toppers.
However, it was the end of the road for the women's doubles duo of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa as they succumbed to their third straight defeat at the Games.

Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa suffered a straight-game defeat to Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu in straight games (21-15, 21-10) in their final group match.
With this defeat, their Paris Olympics campaign come to an end.
Once again, brilliant from the Australian Yu who smashed it right in between the Indian duo and neither of them unable to reach it.
Great chance of Satwik keeps the rally on and Alfian commits a mistake by playing his return into the net.
Satwik-Chirag win the second game 21-13.
Final result: Satwik-Chirag beat Fajar-Ardianto 21-13, 21-13
Satwik's brilliant anticipation earns the Indians a point at 20-13. They are on match point.
Satwik's skilful return as he places the shuttle in the farthest corner of the court. The Indian duo lead 18-12.
They make it 19-12 now as Ardianto commits a mistake at the net.
Flat exchanges follow between the two pairings, but in the end Fajar and Ardianto win a good point to trail 12-15.
Both pairings win a point each but Satwik and Chirag still have a four-point lead 15-11.
A point for Fajar and Ardinato as they trail 10-14 after Chirag's backhand goes into the net and Ardianto follow it up with a beautiful placement.
Ardianto puts the shuttle into the net, and the Indians claim three points in a row to go 14-8 up.
