On the day of four quarter-final matches featuring Indians, two were shown to the exit and while two advanced to the next round. Men's doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty and women's singles shuttler Malvika Bansod tasted defeat and bowed out of the Hylo Open 2022.On a brighter note, women's doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand and men's singles player Kidambi Srikanth won their respective matches to advance to the semi finals. While the duo defeated Tawain's Hsu Ya Ching/Lin Wan Ching (21-17, 18-21, 21-8), Srikanth got the better of Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in straight sets (21-13, 21-19).Star doubles pair of Satwik/Chirag were ousted by England's Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in straight sets (17-21, 14-21). Bansod, the other Indian player to exit the tournament, was also dealt a straight sets defeat at the racquet of Indonesian Gregoria Tunjung (17-21, 10-21).
