Malvika goes down 21-12, 21-17

Malvika Bansod loses the first match of the quarterfinal tie 21-12, 21-17 against World Number 5 Akane Yamaguchi.

The Indian was surely an underdog going into this contest, however, she did put a brave fight. If the Japanese star won the first game rather easily, Bansod was not really keen on surrendering the second game. She did fight back, but in the end Yamaguchi was just too strong for the inexperienced Indian.
