World Athletics Championships 2025: The reigning world champion Neeraj Chopra and Sachin Yadav have qualified for the men's javelin final in Tokyo. Neeraj achieved the direct qualification without wasting any time. He recorded 84.85m in just his first throw.
Sachin, too, qualified with a throw of 83.67m.
In men's 200m sprint, Animesh Kujur finished 9th in Heat 3 and 42nd among 51 athletes. He clocked 20.77s.
In men's Triple Jump, Praveen Chithravel finished 15th with a jump of 16.74 while Abdulla Aboobacker was 24th out of 32 jumpers, with 16.33m.

Rohit Yadav - 77.81m (finished 28th overall)
Yashvir Singh - 77.51m (finished 30th overall).
There were a total of 37 javelin throwers in contention, only 12 qualify for the final.

Yashvir Singh's final attempt of 77.51m is also his best effort in Tokyo. His earlier efforts include 76.11m and 76.21m.
Rohit's final attempt is a foul. His best throw of 77.81m is not enough to secure him a berth in final. His campaign ends in Tokyo.
