4 x 400m Mixed Relay Round 1 - Heat 1
The first-ever heat of the mixed relay event in the Olympics is underway.
Some interesting facts
The event which will be making its debut at the Olympics made its World Championship debut at the 2019 Doha World Championships.
In Doha, all the team went with the system of starting with two females and ending with the two men. The only exception was Poland.
The Polish put their women sprinter Justyna Swiety Ersetic on the anchor leg and the USA's male flew past her in the finals.
Will we see any teams trying something similar at the Tokyo Olympics?

Testing conditions
