Javelin: DP Manu in gold medal spot

DP Manu has thrown the javelin to 78m on his first attempt. He is 1st after the first round. 

Meanwhile, Abha Khatua has overtaken Manpreet to silver medal spot in Shot Put. India in 2 and 3 in that event as of now. Both Abha and Manpreet need to cross 18m though to get into gold, they're still in the 17s.

Chanda wins 800m silver

And it's silver for Chanda too. She too ran the eventual gold medallist from Sri Lanka close but fell behind in the last 100 metres. Silver for India in both the 800m races - Chanda and Krishan Kumar.

Shot Put: Manpreet Kaur in silver medal spot

Chanda and Lavika Sharma in the 800m women's race now coming up.

Manpreet Kaur is currently in 2nd spot after the first round. She makes a foul throw in her 2nd attempt.

Krishan Kumar wins 800m silver

Krishan Kumar runs a great race! Gives the gold medallist Aboobaker of Qatar a run for his money all through the race. Holds on for silver medal at the end even though he has nothing left in the tank in the last few metres.

This is a new personal best for Krishan! 1:45.88s his timing.

800m Men Race: Afsal, Krishan in action

Two Indians in the 800m race starting the track events in the afternoon session.

Meanwhile, in shot put, Manpreet Kaur has just registered a throw of 17m. Not a bad start.

Racewalk: Bronze for Vikas

In the men's 20km event, Vikas clocked 1:29:32 to take the bronze medal. Yutaro Murayama (1:24:40) of Japan won the gold while Wang Kaihua (1:25:29) of China took the silver medal.

National record holder Akshdeep Singh did not finish the race as he was disqualified by the judges.

Vikas and Priyanka have both qualified for the Athletics World C'ships and the Paris Olympics.

Morning session: Priyanka Goswami wins silver

The racewalkers had a productive session in the morning. Priyanka Goswami clinched the silver in the women's 20km race, while Vikas Singh bags a bronze in the men's race.

National record holder Priyanka clocked 1 hour 34 minutes and 24 seconds to finish second in the women's 20km race walk event behind Yang Liujing (1:32:37) of China. The 27-year-old Priyanka's time, though, was well outside her personal best of 1:28:45, which she had clocked in 2021.
