Jyothi Yarraji wins silver in the 200m final. She was leading till the last 50 metres! A late sting in the tail in the campaign of who has been one of the best athletes in the 2023 AAC across all countries, Jyothi has to settle for silver in 200m. This is her second medal after the 100m hurdles gold. Alongside the other double medallist Parul Choudhary (middle distance), Jyothi has established herself as an Asian great in short distances this year. What an athlete!

A brilliant recovery from Gulveer to clinch 3rd spot in the 5000m. He was nowhere in the picture at the halfway stage.

Now, time for Jyothi's 200m final.

What drama! DP Manu has done it when he needed it the most. What a horrible way to bow out it would have been to have been pushed down to 3rd on the last attempt. But Manu does it on the 6th attempt, throws the javelin to a distance of 81.01. That will seal the silver medal for him. Japan's Genke wins gold.

DP Manu is now down to 3rd spot. Pakistan's Muhammad Yasir has overtaken him with a 79.93m throw. Manu has one last throw left. Can he recover?

Meanwhile, Abhishek Pal is in the 5000m race which has just started. It will be Jyothi's 200m final after this.

DP Manu has a challenger! Roderik Genke Dean of Japan, who has British origin, breaches 80m. 2 of his throws cross 80, the gold medal is in his hands now with a 83.15m throw. Manu, with a 79.83m throw, is still in silver spot. 2 more attempts left.

2023-07-16 10:06 GMT

Abha Khatua with a massive new personal best! Her PB before this was 17.13. She throws 18.06m and lets out a massive roar. There were hopes on Manpreet, and it was Manpreet who was leading after the first round, but she's now down to 3rd. Abha climbs up to silver medal spot. The gold medal winning throw stands at 18.88 with 1 more round left.

Parul Choudhary wins silver in 5000m. Ankita also puts in a late surge to inch into bronze medal spot.

This is Parul's 2nd medal of the meet after her 3000m steeplechase gold. She has definitely made her mark at the 2023 AAC.

79.83 by Manu on his second attempt. He lets out a roar after he releases, but seems disappointed with the final landing point. Still comfortably in the gold medal spot though, a good 2 metres lead in hand.
