Asian Games LIVE: India will go in search of their first gold medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Tuesday, with the women’s cricket team taking on Sri Lanka in the final at 10:30 AM IST.
India have already collected six medals at the Games, including four silver and two bronze, but the elusive gold is yet to arrive. Shooting has led the country’s medal charge, while Suchika Tariyal also made history by winning India’s first Asian Games medal in MMA.
The cricket final presents India with their clearest opportunity yet to break that gold-medal duck. The team booked its place in the final after beating Bangladesh in the semifinal, while Sri Lanka advanced after defeating Pakistan.
There are several other medal opportunities on the cards. Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Rakesh Mane will compete in the 10m air rifle mixed team event, with qualification at 6:15 AM and the final at 8:25 AM. Wushu’s Hanjabam Langlentombi Devi will also be in medal action in the women’s Nanquan and Nandao final at 11:59 AM.
India’s badminton, table tennis, hockey, kabaddi, boxing, karate, fencing, swimming, soft tennis and equestrian athletes will also be in action throughout the day.

The Indian men lost a close tie 1-2 to hosts Japan after being in a position of advantage. They will now take on Malaysia in their second group stage tie.
A day after her mixed doubles exit alongside Jay Meena, Aadya Tiwari returns for singles action. She starts the her group stage campaign against Thailand's Alisha Ziegler!
Indian atheltes pocketed four medals from shooting and MMA.
Himanshu Dhillon won silver and Rudrankksh Patil claimed bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event, giving India its first-ever double podium finish in the event at the Asian Games. The duo alonwith Parth Mane also won the team silver.
Suchika Tariyal won bronze in the women’s 60kg Traditional category. India now has six medals (four silver and two bronze) and is 12th in the medals standings.
