They had a slow start and were in fifth place at the first 500m, but there wasn't much difference between the teams.  However, the Indian team still couldn't improve their position and finished 5th.

Squash, Men's Singles: Veer Chotrani advances to quarters after a thrilling match

Veer was pushed to the end by the tricky Malaysian player, Sanjay Jeeva, but eventually the Indian player came out as the best, winning 3-2 (11-9, 8-11, 11-6, 15-17, 11-6)

Veer had a 2-1 lead in the match but was then challenged by Jeeva in the fourth game, and he missed out on three match points before losing 15-17 in a 27-minute game.

The decider was, however, much easier with Veer, gaining a good lead right from the start and finished it comfortably with 11-6 to reach the last 8.

He will now face the Pakistani player Muhammad Irfan in the quarterfinals, and the winner of the match will confirm a medal.
