Asian Games 2026 Live Updates, September 24: India return to action on Thursday with a busy medal schedule, led by Roshibina Devi’s women’s 60kg sanda final in wushu and a series of rowing finals in the morning.
Roshibina will be the first major medal contender in action when she takes on China’s Xiaoyu Zhang at 6:05 AM, with gold at stake. The Indian had reached the final with a 2-0 semifinal win over Indonesia’s Thania Kusumaningtyas and will now look to move up from her bronze-medal finishes at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games.
Rowing will also be a major focus, with the men’s single sculls and double sculls finals scheduled from 5:10 AM. Balraj Panwar will be among India’s medal hopefuls after progressing to the men’s singles sculls final on Wednesday. India will also feature in the women’s four and men’s quadruple sculls finals.
The day will also feature Indian athletes across boxing, squash, table tennis, fencing, canoeing, swimming, gymnastics and athletics.
Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh will compete in the men’s 100m heats, while the evening athletics programme includes the women’s 10,000m final and mixed 4x400m relay final.

Rowing, Men's Doubles Sculls: Satnam Singh-Salman Khan win BRONZEEE!
Satnam Singh and Salman Singh keep alive India's streak of rowing medals at the Asiad, dating back to 1986!
They finished third in men's doubles sculls, clocking 6:13.25.
Satnam and Salman, booted out of quadruple sculls to doubles sculls three days ago, were second until 1500m before crossing the line of a bronze!

Up next in action for India will be Salman Khan and Satnam Singh in men's doubles sculls. They were brought into this event on Monday from quadruple sculls.
Their former teammate Balraj just put up a brave fight to finish fourth. Can they go better?

Rowing, Men's Singles Sculls: Balraj Panwar finishes fourth!
Balraj Panwar was in for the longest time. He was second after 500m. He was second after 1000m. He was second after 1500m. But, the Indian is overtaken but Uzbekistan and hosts Japan in the final 500m.
Panwar drops down to finish fourth, with a timing of 6:54.80s.
Lack of training in the event, the reason? We'll wait for wat Panwar has to say officially. But for now, a medal missed for India.
